Going back to an old love..

Does it ever work?

I've used Bare minerals for about two years a while back. I liked the coverage, the finish, the colour match, and the light weight feeling. Simply put, I loved it all. Then, out of curiosity, I moved on to Chanel Pro Lumiere. I used that for about 4 months before I yet again moved on to Nars Sheer Glow. I've now been using Nars for about 4 months.

Since it is summer, I have been getting some colour. And my Nars is a little bit light for me right now. Then I remembered that I had my darker shade of Bare Minerals. I was excited to visit with this old friend. I took out my old brush and swirl, tapped and buffed. It was quick, light weight, just as I remembered. And when I look a long good look in the mirror, I heard the 'fail' soundtrack in my head= "Waa, Waa, waaaaaaaaaaaa". I looked shiny, pores that I forgot I had were accentuated and I felt like I had rubbed a bronzer/highlight all over my face.

While revisiting old loves, just remember, some times you part for a reason.

wedding!!

My best friend just got married Saturday June 26th (yesterday!!) and I am still on a wedding high! She looked absolutely stunning, her dress was amazing, her hair was perfect, and I did her makeup :)

There are amaaazing professional photos that were taken, but I don't know if I have the right to put them up on this site, even though they are all stamped with their logo? I will have to find out! But for now here's a quick snap shot of the blushing bride!

orange, its kind of my fav colour.

My room is orange, my nails are often orange, and today my lids were orange. My bf bought be the creatively named 'Orange' from MAC a few months ago and I finally got around to playing with it. I used it in a very subtle way, just a light wash on the lids, with soft brown in the crease and rice grain on the inner corners.
Sorry the quality isn't the best, but I'm no genius with the camera. The colours are much more aparent in real life!

2 years with my bf look

Back in January my bf and I were officially together for two years and this is the look that I wore to dinner with him :)
I straightend my hair then curled it (a lot of work for one look), and wore a soft bronze eye with falsies.

Drag Sara

So I've been inspired by drag queens a lot lately, and by lately I guess I mean the past 6-9 months. Over the top makeup, lots of it.. kind of a makeup artist's play ground. This was a look that I did a while back and never posted. Lots of Shroom, Carbon, Stars-n-Rockets from MAC, and a MUFE loose eyeshadow which looks white but shows up a beautiful glowing purple. Lots of gel liner and a pair of crazy lashes from Ardel or something. On the lips, its a mix of Magenta lip liner, Gladiola and Creamcup lipstick, all MAC. On my face I'm wearing Chanel Pro Lumiere liquid foundation, topped off with MAC powder foundation and Harmony blusher as contour.. and it looks like a tiny bit of Dollymix for colour on the cheeks.
And for a bonus, this was a look that I had thought of for a while and wanted to try. Again this is an old picture so remembering the products are difficult. Looks like Naked Lunch and a highlight, Carbon as a defined crease blended upwards with Satelite Dreams, Vanilla pigment on the lid with black gel liner and Shimmermoss as an added liner on top of the black. Gel liner on the water line, Satelite Dreams under lower lashline and a pair of falsies. On the lips it looks like Hot Gossip with Date Night Dazzleglass on top. As for skin.. maybe Bare Minerals? lol

It's been too long..

There has been so much going on in my life since the last post. Hopefully this summer will allow me to get back into the swing of things.
Recently I've been doing some pretty simple looks for my everyday makeup. Honestly some days I just wear mascara if I am just working with seniors. If I feel like wearing a bit more I will go for a touch of gel liner and loads of mascara:
Or I will add a splash of Woodwinked from MAC over the lid..And for hair, I've been liking the fishtail take on the simple side braided fringe..
I have a few more looks to be posting, and hopefully with my bf's wedding coming (I'm the MoH, MC, and makeup artist), there will be some different faces on the blog!
